AEROSPACE INDUSTRY COMMITTEE

2012 PROGRAM OF WORK

  The AIC Executive Board shall include the Chairperson, the 1st Vice Chairperson, and the 2nd Vice Chairperson.

 

Purpose: The Aerospace Industry Committee is organized for the purpose of preserving, advancing and enhancing the community of aerospace and defense industries in the Warner Robins area and for the advancement of their collective interests. The Committee shall also engage in those programs and projects, which are designed to stimulate capital investment and jobs creation within and throughout the middle Georgia aerospace and defense sectors. The Committee views as essential its ability to serve as a point of appropriate and effective interface with senior military and civilian management personnel of Robins Air Force Base, the United States Air Force, and local, state and national elected leadership.

 

The AIC has several standing subcommittees and adds additional committees as required to sustain and enhance the goals of the organization. The upcoming AIC Chairperson will with inputs from other AIC officers appoint subcommittee chairpersons. Subcommittee chairpersons may select their own committee members from the AIC membership at large. Each chairperson will report new or important details of their work area at the monthly meetings.

1. GOVERNMENTAL AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRSThe AIC shall have a subcommittee for governmental and community affairs. This subcommittee is responsible for:
 
a.
Advising committee members of key personnel changes affecting the leadership of Robins Air Force Base and related military organizations.
b.
Arranging coordination meetings as necessary between the AIC Executive Board, the Director of Contracting, and key contractors in order to enhance and improve the contracting process between the government and industry.
c.
Maintaining coordination with the WR-ALC Office of Public Affairs and the Plans & Programs Directorate to provide the AIC insight and support as necessary to distinguished visitors and other groups visiting Robins Air Force Base. 
d.
Maintaining coordination with the Middle Georgia 21st Century Partnership and the WR-ALC Director of Plans & Programs regarding Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Committee events and making recommendations to the AIC Executive Board regarding actions necessary to support BRAC related activities.
e.
Advising the AIC regarding the impact of DoD, Air Force, AFMC or WR-ALC policy changes impacting Middle Georgia Aerospace Industry.


2. MEMBERSHIP: The AIC shall have a subcommittee for membership.  This committee shall be responsible for:
 
a.
Creating membership programs to maintain a strong and diverse membership and to increase meeting attendance and presenting details of the annual goals to the AIC at large.
b.
Developing recommendations for incentives to support increased AIC membership and attendance at AIC events.
c.
Ensuring diversity in AIC membership to reflect the Middle Georgia aerospace community.
d.
Maintain membership table at the Requirements Symposium.
e.
Review Chamber of Commerce membership list and Requirement Symposium attendance list for potential new members.


3. PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP AVISORY GROUP:  The AIC shall have a subcommittee for public/private partnership advisory group.  This committee shall be responsible for:
PAG committee members will evaluate the characteristics of various public/private partnerships (direct sales, teaming, work share, lease, and Government furnished resources), impediments to successful community/base partnerships and provide innovative recommendations to the AIC, WR-ALC and other interested groups that will;
    a. Enhances the viability, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Warner Robins ALC depots and supply chain management,.
    b. Improves the capability of the middle Georgia community to accept and support new missions at Robins AFB, and
    c. Stimulate aerospace capital investments and jobs in the middle Georgia area.
  d. Monitor and participate to the degree possible in the new Government Ramp (GRamp) initiative.


4. FINANCIALThe AIC shall have a subcommittee for managing the sub-committees financials.  This committee individual shall be responsible for:
 
a.
Assisting the AIC Chairpersons in accounting for all financials (incoming/outgoing) on behalf of the AIC committee.
b.
Recommending to the AIC Chairpersons possible, avenues for short term CD investments for any funds for money in AIC accounts each calendar year.
c.
Maintaining financial spreadsheets that track with the Chamber’s financial focal point.


5. EDUCATION:   The AIC shall have a subcommittee for enhancing and promoting education issues within the DOD and local community:
 
a.
Develop and promote educational issues within the DOD and local community.
Participate as a representative from the AIC to support the Middle Georgia Work Ready Aerospace Partnership (MgWRAP), of which the AIC is a charter member.
b.
Establishment and lead the AIC scholarship program with funds allocated by the AIC officers.
c.
Research and brief the AIC officers on worthy educational efforts that the committee recommends funding.


6. PROGRAMS:   The AIC shall have a subcommittee for programs chaired by the 2nd Vice Chairperson. This committee shall be  responsible for:
 
a.
Developing and promoting programs for monthly meetings and special AIC functions.
b.
Recommending and organizing special events (golf tournaments, special receptions, etc.) in order to enhance increased membership and participation.
c.
Conduct a social with NCMA members.


7. REQUIREMENTS SYMPOSIUM:  The AIC shall have a subcommittee for the Requirements Symposium chaired by the 1st Vice Chairperson.  This committee shall be  responsible for:
 
a.
Overseeing the planning and execution of the symposium.
b.
Selecting the venue for the annual symposium.
c.
Establishing agenda, guest speakers, meals, advertising, etc.
d.
Coordinating with WR/ALC on all areas.


8. OTHER:  The Immediate Past Chairperson and Subcommittee Chairpersons will join the AIC Executive Board as members of the AIC Executive Committee.  This committee will meet as required to discuss AIC programs and issues.   The President and the Executive Vice President of the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce may serve as ex-officio advisors of the Executive Committee as required.
  The Executive Committee has agreed the baseline 2009 Program of Work will consist of the following specific programs/initiatives.  Other programs/issues will be worked as possible.
