1. TOPIC: Advanced rapid prototyping; rapid molds for bonded assemblies; rapid restoration of dimensional tolerances
SYNOPSIS: Given an aircraft component with complex curvature and minor imperfections on the Outer Mold Line (OML) a method of rapidly fabricating a bonding fixture that will restrain the part in the correct contour during repair is needed. The bonding fixture must have the minor imperfections removed from the contour. The bond fixture must be capable of withstanding repeated autoclave cycles of 50PSI at 275F. Typical part sizes to be accommodated are: OML size 52” by 144” depth 36", OML size 101” by 120” depth 48", and OML size 72” by 128” depth 24".

9. TOPIC: Next Generation Corrosion Sensors for Air Force Assets
SYNOPSIS: A significant portion of the USAF maintenance and engineering budget is spent on corrosion related inspections and repairs for fixed-wing aircraft. Technologies such as corrosion sensors that enable Condition-Based Maintenance have the potential to significantly reduce maintenance costs when they reach a practical level of reliability, repeatability, and survivability. The application of corrosion sensors could potentially help detect the types of corrosion damage most important to USAF aircraft. Both the major types of corrosion damage and relevant locations aboard key aircraft will be reviewed.

10. TOPIC: Hexavalent Chrome Reduction/Elimination Initiatives for Air Force Assets
SYNOPSIS: Many research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) activities to date have targeted the reduction of hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] in DoD applications. There are many areas where Cr(VI) is used in the field and depots. This presentation will focus on the current Air Force need to develop processes for the reduction/ elimination of Cr(VI) from weapon system applications which perform as well if not better than hexavalent chrome.

43. TOPIC: Contractor Performance Assessment Report System (CPARS)
SYNOPSIS: The Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) is the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Solution for collection of contractor Past Performance Information (PPI) as required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). CPARS is a web-enabled application that collects and manages a library of automated contractor report cards. A report card assesses a contractor’s performance and provides a record, both positive and negative, on a given contract for a specific period of time. Each report card is based on objective facts and is supported by program and contract management data. Use of CPARS promotes report card consistency, increases data integrity, and motivates improved contractor performance.

CPARS has connectivity with the Federal Past Performance Information Retrieval System (PPIRS). PPIRS is the system used to collect and retrieve performance assessment reports from Federal agencies for use in source selection determinations. Completed CPARS report cards are transferred to PPIRS on a weekly basis and are available for source selection purposes. Source selection officials should visit the PPIRS website at www.ppirs.gov for additional information.

49. TOPIC: Air Force Reserve Command Modernization Requirements
SYNOPSIS: Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Requirements Division Chief, Col Stephen Seaman, will present an overview of National Guard and Reserve Equipment Account (NGREA) funding, the AFRC Requirements Process and the Reserve Modernization List. NGREA is a Congressionally added, non-budgeted procurement account intended to upgrade Reserve Component equipment capabilities through acquisition of non-developmental items necessary to maintain Reserve Component combat capabilities and readiness. Over the past decade, AFRC NGREA funding has averaged $44.1 per year, with a high of $75.1M and a low of $9.8M. AFRC received $55M of NGREA in FY10 and $70M in FY11. The AFRC requirements process is used to identify needs, analyze potential courses of action, confirm requirements and prioritize prospective investments. The AFRC Reserve Modernization List is a prioritized list of executable procurement actions and is summarized annually in the USAF Reserve Modernization Book.
