    Topic: Common Multiplatform Boresight System (CMBS) (Requirements)

       
     

    Synopsis: Boresighting equipment is used to harmonize/boresight and align aircraft avionics, navigation and munitions systems. The Air Force boresight replacement program is in search of a harmonized, accurate, cost-effective system containing newer technology and test capabilities which enable replacement of unsupportable boresight systems. The CMBS must contain evolved technology which meets the Air Force combat needs; reduces the Air Force inventory; and eliminates dependency on peculiar and legacy boresight equipment.

    Topic: T3000/4000 Engine Trailer (Requirements)

       
     

    Synopsis: Support Equipment program office working in conjunction with the Support Equipment Commodity Council (SECC) has a requirement for a service life extension program for the total overhaul for all the aged 3000/4000 trailers in the field. Requirement is to completely refurbish the trailers to "like new" condition in order to extend the life of the fleet of engine trailers.

      Synopsis: Truck Mounted Deicers are used to remove ice and snow from various aircraft will be a 5-year requirements contract which must be awarded by 03 June 09. Contract includes one basic year and 4 option years.

    Synopsis: The A-24 Potable Water Truck is equipped with a 250 gallon tank and pumping system, provides a means of storing, transporting and dispensing potable water, de-mineralized water or water/alcohol mixtures to various USAF aircraft. Requirements type contract 5 years: 1 Basic; 4 option years.

    Synopsis: The R-11 6000 gal refueler is designed to refuel and defuel government aircraft worldwide in all flying environments. The refueler is air transportable via C-130, C-5 and C-17 aircraft. Period of Performance: 10 yrs. (1) Basic Plus; 9 Options: 23 Aug 99 – 22 Aug 09

    Synopsis: This generator set is a diesel engine driven source of electrical power used for the starting of aircraft and for various ground maintenance tasks. We will be soliciting a competitive, multi-year contract with award of the first article test units in FY09. This briefing will discuss our planned acquisition strategy.

    Topic: 50kW/100kW Solid State Frequency Convertors

       
     

    Synopsis: These frequency converters are stand-alone, self-contained units capable of converting 50/60Hz facility power to 400Hz aircraft power. They are used to provide 400Hz power in direct support of testing/repair of aircraft avionic and communication equipment.     Topic: Fischer-Tropsch Fuel FT 50-50

       
     

    Synopsis: The 642d Combat Sustainment Group (Spt Equip & Veh) is the single manager for common support equipment and vehicles (SE&V) for the USAF. In support of current global events, USAF leadership has established the need to reduce the dependency of foreign oil-based fuels, leading to the pursuit of Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene (SPK) derived from a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process. The 642 CBSG has been investigating, and has approved, the use of a JP-8/SPK as an alternative fuel for use with most legacy SE&V. The 642 CBSG will be working with its suppliers to ensure capability to use 50/50 FT fuel in SE&V procured in the future.

    Synopsis: The MB-4 Tow Tractor tows aircraft up to 175k pounds and tows trailers up to 80k pounds. It has a draw bar pull of 16k pounds. The air-equipped version for munitions trailer towing is nuclear certified. The current contract expires Jul 09. This will be a full and open competition for a Basic plus 4 one year options requirements type contract. Estimated requirements and cost have not yet been determined.

    Topic:  Universal Hydraulic Test Stand

       
     

    Synopsis This requirement is for procurement of a two system diesel and electric Hydraulic Test Stand (HTS).  The HTS provides hydraulic pressure to aircraft systems without running the aircraft engines or auxiliary power unit (APU).  Solicitation will be for a competitive, multi-year contract with award of first article test units in FY09.

      SynopsisThis requirement is for procurement of a 110-ton, diesel-driven, air conditioner.  It provides ventilation or conditioned air for ground testing of aircraft equipment and for personal comfort during maintenance.  Solicitation will be for a competitive, multi-year contract with award of first article test units in FY09

    28. Topic: C-5 Mission Brief and C-5 Wiring Integrity Reliability Enhancement Strategy (WIRES) (Informational Brief)
       
     

    Synopsis: 730 ACSG has established a program for wire analysis in an effort to view aircraft wiring as a system. The program formally identified as C-5 WIRES has been tasked to develop a strategic plan for analyzing current wiring health for the C-5 fleet. A systematic approach is being facilitated with the identification of those systems having increased downtime and failure rates. This method of wire analysis is being accomplished through the use of automated wire analysis (AWA) technology accompanied with hand-held multimeters and point-to-point continuity tests. This program will identify: new aircraft wiring approaches and mentality; proactive wiring maintenance strategies; and increased sustainability/reliability/maintainability/availability for the C-5 fleet.

    Synopsis: The Small business Acquisition and Sustainment Tool (SbAST) Program will combine the three WR-ALC wings' (330 ASW, 542 CSW and 402 MXW) requirements to deliver contracts that provide Program Directors and Single Managers with a contracting tool that will effectively provide access to Small Businesses (SB) that can provide sustainment support for WR-ALC. Scope is envisioned to include Air Force managed weapon systems and support systems, line replaceable units, shop replaceable units and components. The effort will include maintenance, repair, modifications, upgrades, and enhancements for reliability, serviceability, maintainability, and performance improvements.

    Synopsis: Discussion of on-going projects and potential upcoming projects for maintaining facilities and infrastructure at Robins AFB. Briefing will include projects funded by Military Construction (MILCON), Depot Maintenance Activity Group (DMAG), and Operations and Maintenance (O&M). Brief will also provide a list of current on-going Indefinite Order Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts and discuss some of the current BRAC and other bed downs at the base.

    34. Topic:  Gaining Energy Independence and Security at Robins AFB
       
     

    Synopsis:  Discussion of on-going projects and potential upcoming projects for accomplishing federal and DoD energy mandates at Robins AFB: (1) Reduce energy intensity (electricity and natural gas) use 30 percent by 2015; reduce water use 2 percent per year; (3) Obtain 25 percent of energy from renewable sources by 2025; (4) Reduce ground fuel use (diesel and gasoline) 2 percent per year; and (5) Increase alternative fuel use 10 percent per year.  Potential project funding sources could include Military Construction (MILCON), Depot Maintenance Activity Group (DMAG), Facility Operations and Maintenance (O&M), and Third Party Financed Project vehicles (ESPC, UESC, EULs).

Briefing will discuss changes driven by BRAC, DLR Procurement operating locations, and relationships with the Air Logistics Center (ALC), the Global Logistics Support Center (GLSC), and other DoD Components.

The Air Force boresight replacement program is in search of a harmonized, accurate, cost-effective system containing newer technology and test capabilities which enable replacement of unsupportable boresight systems. The CMBS must contain evolved technology which meets the Air Force combat needs; reduces the Air Force inventory; and eliminates dependency on peculiar and legacy boresight equipment.

    Synopsis: The 642d Combat Sustainment Group (Spt Equip & Veh) is the single manager for common support equipment and vehicles (SE&V) for the USAF. In support of current global events, USAF leadership has established the need to reduce the dependency of foreign oil-based fuels, leading to the pursuit of Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene (SPK) derived from a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process. The 642 CBSG has been investigating, and has approved, the use of a JP-8/SPK as an alternative fuel for use with most legacy SE&V. The 642 CBSG will be working with its suppliers to ensure capability to use 50/50 FT fuel in SE&V procured in the future.

    Synopsis: 730 ACSG has established a program for wire analysis in an effort to view aircraft wiring as a system. The program formally identified as C-5 WIRES has been tasked to develop a strategic plan for analyzing current wiring health for the C-5 fleet. A systematic approach is being facilitated with the identification of those systems having increased downtime and failure rates. This method of wire analysis is being accomplished through the use of automated wire analysis (AWA) technology accompanied with hand-held multimeters and point-to-point continuity tests.
